Are you ready for a simple system that will have hot meals ready to go for your family even on days when you are out of the house or too busy to cook?
I work from home, which is great, but since I actually WORK while I’m here, it’s important to have systems in place that “cover” me so that I can do two things at once. My answer for that is two-fold.
One thing I do religiously is menu-planning, and you can catch up on that skill here at this link. The other thing I do is put slow-cooker meals on my meal plan for the week.
I love the America’s Test Kitchen Slow Cooker Revolution cookbook the best. So far, everything we’ve tried out of that book has worked (no whammies!).
The way I implement this strategy is this:
1. Do all chopping and prep the night before.
2. Allow 30 minutes in the morning for sauteeing and browning prep before work, workout, etc. I usually do this while I’m also making breakfast for child.
3. Plug in and turn on slow cooker and forget about it until it’s time to eat.
4. Look like hero when house smells great and dinner rocks.
That’s it! I hope this tip is helpful for you. I’ve also created a video about this tip, and you can watch it here and below.
